Letf(z) be an arbitrary entire function andM(f, r) = max If(z)l. For a polynomialp(z) Izl=r . of degree Il, having no zeros in Izi < I,Rivlin had obtained (r+ l)n M(p, r) ~ -2M(p, I), r ~ I. Using this and various associated results, we have obtained precise relationship between M(p, p) and M(p, I) for a polynomial p(z) having all its zeros on Izi = k, k > O. Some sort of a converse of Rivlin's result has also been obtained.
